from a family of freedom fighters and farmers’ leaders - his father
Mansingh being a farmers’ leader and grandfather ChandyaNayak a freedom
fighter - Madanlal has been an active student leader of the NSUI. He
left his teacher’s job in 1985 and joined the Congress Party. He became
District Youth Congress general secretary in 1993 and DCC vice-president
in 1992. A post-graduate, he had unsuccessfully contested the 2009
assembly elections from Wyra. His wife Manjula has worked as a sarpanch
between 2001 and 2006.
