Batti Jagapati


Active in politics from his student days, Batti Jagapati was joint secretary, vice-president and president of the government junior college union and was the general secretary of the Nizamabad ITI College union. He was jailed during the Emergency period for his political activism.  Jagapati was municipal councilor in Medak from 1981 to 1985.   He was a member of District Library. From 1983 to 2000, he had held various posts in TDP. He was chairman of Medak Municipality thrice (1987-1982, 1995- 2000 and 2005- 2010)  In the 2009, he had joined the PRP and had fought assembly elections unsuccessfully. In 2009,  he joined Congress in the presence of YSR. He is now District convener of YSR Congress Party.

Bommana Rajkumar



A well-known clothier and jeweller, Bommana Rajkumar is a household name in Andhra Pradesh. He was a TDP party worker since its inception till 2000, when he joined the Congress Party. In 2008, he joined the newly-formed PRP. He is with the YSR CP from its inception and is now the convener of Rajahmundry city committee.

Chanda Lingaiah


A double post-graduate, Lingaiah is well known for his tribal activism and was instrumental in getting huge funds for tribal development works in Burgampad region. He was the president of Girijana Abhudaya Samstha and was instrumental in bringing Sanjay Gandhi to Yalambail in Paloancha mandal. He was a Youth Congress Leader between 1974 and 1984. He was elected an MLA from Burgampadu  in 1984 and was elected Khammam ZP chief in 2001.Between 2006 and 2011 he was the State president of Manyaseema. His wife Chanda Bharati is a former ZPTC member. He is ad hoc district convener of the YSRCP for Khammam.

Dharmana Padmapriya


Padmapriya, who hails from a powerful political family, is Srikakulam district convener of the party. She is wife of Dharmana Krishna Das, who was Narasannapet MLA and chose to resign for the cause of the farmers at the behest of YS Jagan. The couple had decided to follow the footsteps of YS Jagan and joined the YSR CP.

Golla Babu Rao


A Group 1 officer, Babu Rao took the political plunge before 2009 elections and was elected from Payakaraopeta assembly. He was the first Congressman to win from the constituency after 1983. He was CEO of Visakhapatnam zilla parishad before joining politics and thus had extensive relations with the people and the bureaucracy in the region. He is now the convener of the  Visakha rural district unit of the YSRCP.

Gouru Venkata Reddy

 
He was elected member of AICC in the congress meetings held at Tirupati during the time when Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy was the CM. He also worked as the PCC member. He contested from Nandikotkur in 1999 and lost. His wife Charita Reddy contested from Nandikotkuru in 2004 elections and won the seat. Venkat Reddy who was born at Brahmanakodur studied up to Intermediate and has two sons.

Jaleel Khan


A Commerce graduate from the SRR and CRR College in Vijayawada, Khan was Vijayawada Congress preisdent for 8 years. As a Congress MLA in 1999, he was secretary of the CLP and the general secretary of the PCC. He was also a member of the AICC. He had later joined the TDP and became its state Secretary. He had hit headlines when as a TDP leader he had staged a protest against party chief Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring protocol. A follower of YSR, he is now the Vijayawada city convener of the YSRCP.

Janardhan Reddy B


Was a BJP activist since March 1990 and was its organizing secretary and state executive committee member. Several times, he had managed the elections of the BJP candidates from Nampalli and Karwan. A native of Chandrayangutta, he is now the convener of the Rangareddy district   unit of the party.

Konatala Ramakrishna

 
A two-time MP and a former Minister, Konathala is an immensely popular leader of North Coastal Andhra. During his tenure as MP, he was the convener of the AP MP’s Forum. He was minister for commercial taxes in YSR Government. Besides being a Central Governing Council Member, he is also convener of the Political Affairs Committee of the party.

Kottamaddi Suresh Babu

 
Suresh Babu hails from a family known for intense political activism. His uncle Subbaramayya was for long time the MPP of Kadapa. Inspired by him, Suresh Babu had taken a plunge into politics and was Chinnachowk sarpanch between 1997 and 2001. A staunch loyalist of YSR, Suresh Babu became the chief of Kadapa zilla parishad from 2001 to 2006. He had also served as a PCC member between 2004 and 2008. AT the time of leaving the Congress, he was serving as Kadapa DCC chief.

Koyye Moshen Raju



Hails from Bhimavaram town in West Godavari district. He rose steadily in the ranks of the party and held several posts in the Youth Congress and the DCC. A staunch follower of senior leader and former MP Alluri Subhas Chandrabose, he had worked as the APIDC director during 1990-1994. During 1987-2011, he was four times municipal councilor and twice Congress floor leader in Bhimavaram municipality. He was DCC chief, when he quit the party in support of YS Jagan. He is the convener of West Godavari district unit of the YSRCP.

Kudupudi Chittiabbai



He belongs to Amalapuram and has been in active politics for over 4 decades. Kudipudi Chittiabbai hails from a political family and has been in active politics for well over four decades. His uncle Suryanarayana Rao was the first municipal chairperson of Amalapuram. He was an MLA and an MLC too. Kudipudi’s cousin K Prabhakar Rao was a four time MLA and a minister. A popular leader in Konaseema region, Chittiabbai was Amalapuram town Congress President. That when denied a party ticket, he had contested independently and had won twice in 1999 and 2004 is a measure of his popularity. In 2009 polls, he was instrumental in getting Congress nominee P Viswaroop elected as an MLA. Post-YSR’s demise, he stood by YS Jagan and is now the East Godavari district convener of the YSRCP.

Lella Appi Reddy

 
Active in politics from his student days, Appi Reddy, has served as the vice president of Guntur SGHR Junior College and later as its president during 1983 and 1984. Later, he had served the NSUI first as Guntur district treasurer and then as the president.  He was DCC chief from 1995 to 2001and was PCC secretary from 2002 to 2004. He was known for his fight for the rights of the workers of the Bajrang Jute Mill in 2005 and is still a jute mill union leader. He was the chairperson of the Guntur Agricultural Market Committee in 2007.  He is the Guntur district convener.

Marri Rajasekhar


He plunged in to active politics after the demise of his uncle and former MLA Somepally Sambaiah. Sambaiah, who had won as an independent, was very close to YSR. Rajasekhar was appointed member of the Horticulture University in 2007 and was nominated member of the TTD trust board from 2008 to 2009. He is a law graduate.

Narayana Swamy


Active in politics since 1972, Kalattur Narayana Swamy has always been a staunch follower of YSR. A graduate from the SV Arts College, he was elected sarpanch of Annuru in Karvetinagaram mandal in 1981. Within a month, he was elected president of the Samiti with a staggering majority. Hugely popular in Karvetinagaram area, he was elected MLA from there in 2004. Since YSR’s demise, he has working for the YSR Congress Party in Chittoor district and has been instrumental in joining several key Congress leaders into the Satyavedu unit of the YSR Congress Party.

Nukasani Balaji


A doctorate in economics, Balaji is the YSR CP district convener for Prakasam district. Actively involved in the Leftist student movements from 1977 to 1990, Then, for two years, he taught students at SVU PG Centre in Kavali. Later, he was  a research officer at the National Institute for Rural Development (NIRD) between 1992 and 1994. Later, he was actively involved in the literacy and anti-liquor movements in the district. In 1999, he had joined the Congress and was for two terms its district general secretary and once secretary of the BC cell. He was appointed PCC secretary and coordinator of party affairs for Kondepi constituency. Ever since the formation of the YSR CP, he has been with the party and has accompanied YS Jagan in his tours across the length and breadth of the state.

Palagiri Pratap Reddy


A non-controversial leader who is immensely popular with the rank and file of the party, Reddy was a follower of former MLA Mabbu Rami Reddy and joined the Congress Party in 1992. Since 2002, he has been closely associated with Bhoomana Karunakara Reddy and was president of the Tirupati Town Congress Committee from 2005 to 2010. In the post-YSR political developments, he was suspended from the party for supporting YS Jagan. He is now the YSRCP Tirupati city unit president.
 

Penumatcha Sambasivaraju



A veteran politician, Raju was born in Moida village of Vizianagaram district. He entered politics in 1959. For eight years, he was president of the Nellimarla Panchayat Samiti. From 1962 to 1966, he was a member of the State Central Library and the vice president of the State Library Authority. A veteran trade unionist, he was the president of the trade unions of Nellimarla mills, Arun Mills and Sarvaraya Jutes and Textiles.  In 1967, he had contested from Gajapathinagaram constituency as an independent and notched up an impressive win. He had won a second time from the same constituency later and then represented Sathivada in 1978, 1983, 1985 and 1989. He was the director of RTC board from 1974 to 1977. He was minister for transport, sugar and civil supplies. Post-YSR’s demise, Raju backed YS Jagan and became the Vizianagaram district convener of the party since May 2011.

Pyla Narasimhaiah


He is the ad hoc convener of the Anantapur district unit of the YSR CP. A native of Tadipatri, he has been politically active since 1991 and was a ZPTC member from the Tadipatri rural mandal. During the 2009 elections, he unsuccessfully fought for the Tadipatri Assembly constituency on PRP ticket. Before becoming the district convener of the party, he was the PRP district convener.

Ragireddy Venkata Jayaram Kumar


Kumar is the Kakinada city convener of the YSRCP. Active in politics from his student days, Kumar was the president of Kakinada’s PR Government College students’ Union. In 2005, he was elected corporator on TDP ticket and had later worked as the member of the municipal standing council and the district planning committee. In the 2009 elections, he had worked for the victory of the Congress candidate and has since joined the YSR CP.
