Somayajulu was the advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh on finance, commerce and policy implementation during Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy-era. He was also the chairperson of the Agricultural Technology Mission. He is the brain behind late YSR’s flagship scheme that envisaged free power to the farm sector. A chartered accountant and advocate, Somayajulu was also the executive director of the APIDC.
