A
veteran of trade union movement and politics, he was active in the
Congress for several years in various capacities. He was the state-level
leader of the Youth Congress and a five-time general secretary of the
Adilabad DCC. He was state general secretary of the INTUC for long time
and was elected 18 times in secret ballot as the senior general
secretary of the Singareni staff union. This speaks volumes about his
strong trade union roots and immense popularity among the working class.
He had conducted political training classes in AP, Puduchcherry, Gujrat
and New Delhi.
