Why YSR Congress

YSR Congress Party came into being as a whiff of fresh air, when the State was reeling under political uncertainty blended with apathy and lost its way in ideological wilderness with the Delhi remote control calling the shots sidelining ground realities and ignoring people’s problems.
After the tragic death of the towering leader YS Rajasekahar Reddy, the vacuum and void could not filled as the State had no leader who could match YSR in stature, vision and charisma.  Nefarious plans came into full play and Delhi Durbar unfolded a methodical action plan to erase YSR and his nobility from the people who were enjoying the fruits of the welfare schemes he had launched.

Restrictions being imposed on YSR family members triggered the flash point.

The self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh was deeply hurt when the due recognition to YSR was denied and his welfare measures were being tapered down systematically and a situation was created where his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had to leave Congress and start a new party to keep YSR’s ideals afloat and bring back his golden era.
That was how YSR Congress Party was announced on March 11, 2011 at Jaggampet in East Godavari district. The formal launch took place on the next day at Idupulapaya where the great leader was laid to rest.
People gave a decisive mandate by electing President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to LokSabha from Kadapa and YS Vijayamma to assembly from Pulivendula by an overwhelming margin signaling the arrival of a new force that could fulfill their aspirations.
The acronym YSR stands for Yuvajana, Shramika, Rythu and YSR Congress Party is committed to the uplift of all sections of the society more so farmers, women, students, weavers, marginalised sections of the society to name a few……
