A key leader in Nerella and Sircilla constituencies of Karimnagar
district, KondamKarunaMahendra Reddy had single-handedly built the TRS
in Sircilla division. In 2004, he had played a key role in the victory
of KasipetaLingaiah from Nerella constituency. By 2009, he became
estranged with the TRS and fought against KTR, KCR’s son and the common
candidate of TRS-TDP combine, from Sircilla and lost by a mere 177
votes. Later, he joined the Congress in the presence of YS Rajasekhara
Reddy. In 2010, he had contested against KTR again, unsuccessfully
though. Popular among Reddys, BCs and minorities alike, Mahendra Reddy
is actively working to consolidate the YSR CP. Before his political
plunge, Reddy was a public prosecutor. |
