'Cool' Jagan betrays no tension

Unfazed by the filing of a CBI chargesheet in the assets case involving him, Kadapa MP and YSRcongress chief Jaganmohan Reddy continued with his Odarpu Yatra in Guntur city on Saturday.

Jagan, who has been in the city for the past two days, on Saturday refused to make any changes to his schedule in light of the developments in the state capital.

Although he addressed several public meetings, the YSR Congress chief made no mention of the CBI chargesheet.

However, YSR Congress spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said: "We have been saying right from the start that CBI cannot arrest our leader due to two reasons.

"First, our leader has not committed any crime for which he should be arrested.

"Second, the CBI, which has really slapped a false case, has squarely failed in gathering evidence to prove the charges.

"A few media organisations createrd an unnecessary hungama to strike panic among our cadre."

Jagan, who stayed at former Prattipadu legislator Mekathoti Sucharitha's residence on Friday, mettwo key leaders of the region's kapu community.

Former Vijayawada legislator Vangaveeti Radhakrishna met Jagan late at night before announcing that he was joining YSR congress.

Allu Venkata Satyanarayana, kapu leader from West Godavari and former legislator from Palakole, formally joined the party during the yatra in Guntur.

Jagan continued on Saturday as he has throughout the tour and made a whirlwind visit of city divisions, touring Gujjanagundla, Koritapadu, Cobaltpet, Amaravathiroad and Srinagar Colony.

It was while he was in Srinagar Colony that CBI filed the chargesheet in the court.
