Active
in politics from his student days, Appi Reddy, has served as the vice
president of Guntur SGHR Junior College and later as its president
during 1983 and 1984. Later, he had served the NSUI first as Guntur
district treasurer and then as the president. He was DCC chief from
1995 to 2001and was PCC secretary from 2002 to 2004. He was known for
his fight for the rights of the workers of the Bajrang Jute Mill in 2005
and is still a jute mill union leader. He was the chairperson of the
Guntur Agricultural Market Committee in 2007. He is the Guntur district
convener.
