Hails
from Bhimavaram town in West Godavari district. He rose steadily in the
ranks of the party and held several posts in the Youth Congress and the
DCC. A staunch follower of senior leader and former MP Alluri Subhas
Chandrabose, he had worked as the APIDC director during 1990-1994.
During 1987-2011, he was four times municipal councilor and twice
Congress floor leader in Bhimavaram municipality. He was DCC chief, when
he quit the party in support of YS Jagan. He is the convener of West
Godavari district unit of the YSRCP.
