Commerce graduate from the SRR and CRR College in Vijayawada, Khan was
Vijayawada Congress preisdent for 8 years. As a Congress MLA in 1999, he
was secretary of the CLP and the general secretary of the PCC. He was
also a member of the AICC. He had later joined the TDP and became its
state Secretary. He had hit headlines when as a TDP leader he had staged
a protest against party chief Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring protocol. A
follower of YSR, he is now the Vijayawada city convener of the YSRCP.
