A
Group 1 officer, Babu Rao took the political plunge before 2009
elections and was elected from Payakaraopeta assembly. He was the first
Congressman to win from the constituency after 1983. He was CEO of
Visakhapatnam zilla parishad before joining politics and thus had
extensive relations with the people and the bureaucracy in the region.
He is now the convener of the Visakha rural district unit of the YSRCP.
