Active
in politics from his student days, Srinivas has served the Congress
party in various capacities like the Rudrangi unit secretary and then
Youth Congress general secretary for Chandurthi mandal and was PCC
member and then PCC secretary in 2007. He was elected ZPTC member in
1995 and was floor leader for Congress party in KarimnagarZP. In 2001,
he was elected an MPTC member and was made the mandal parishad
president, a post which he could not eventually occupy due to Naxal
threats. For two terms he was president of Vemulawada Rajarajeswara
Swami temple Board in 2005 and 2009. In 2009, he had narrowly lost the
Vemulawada assembly poll. Presently, he is the district coordinator of
the YSR Congress Party for Medak and Nizamabad. His wife Vanaja
represented Chandurthi as a ZPTC member in 2001 and 2006.
