A
non-controversial leader who is immensely popular with the rank and
file of the party, Reddy was a follower of former MLA Mabbu Rami Reddy
and joined the Congress Party in 1992. Since 2002, he has been closely
associated with Bhoomana Karunakara Reddy and was president of the
Tirupati Town Congress Committee from 2005 to 2010. In the post-YSR
political developments, he was suspended from the party for supporting
YS Jagan. He is now the YSRCP Tirupati city unit president.
